Breakfast with Santa

Brooke took a spill on the front walk and landed on her nose. OUCH!!! Thank heavens I already had her "formal" Santa pic done. She points to it repeatedly every day and says, "Boo-boo! Bam!" and makes a slamming motion with her hand.
Just another day of dress-up in Olivia's world...
Our subdivision had their annual Breakfast with Santa event Saturday. We even had snow flurries that morning!! (But they melted as soon as they touched the ground.) The girls really enjoyed it and got to talk to Santa. Brooke had already met him the other day at Olivia's pre-k when she and Olivia had their formal Santa pic done. So, she wasn't too wary of him today. They had simple Christmas crafts for the kids to make, along with apple juice and donut holes. Fun was had by all. Here is Olivia in her reindeer hat.
Brooke made one, too.

Daddy was very handy and helped with the crafts.
Olivia going back for extra credit with Santa.
Mark, the Evil One, introduces Brooke to coffee (uck!). Of course, she loved it. (Ack!) I am the only non-coffee drinker in the house now. :( Mark is also teaching Brooke to say "Ancient Chinese Secret!" If you're old like us, you'll recognize that from a detergent commercial LONG ago. I guess we'll never be politically correct. Brooke's languange is really coming along. She says all sorts of words which other people probably wouldn't recognize, but we're able to communicate alot better now. She will declare whether Olivia (and anyone else she sees) has been a "good girl" or a "bad girl", says thank you all the time (gah-goo!!), and sings the happy birthday song, "Happy Day to You!!" in her own way.

The official coffee drinkers' portrait.

Towards the end of the party, Santa read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas for all the kids.

Brooke made her first Christmas ornament, a candy cane made of red and white beads on a pipe-cleaner. Here she hangs it on our tree. Her first ornament!

Sisters crash together on the sofa. Olivia was VERY moody. (Maybe because of her swine flu vaccination.)

Sunday morning, I could hear Brooke up before us. She and her sister were very quiet. She came into our room in a very happy mood and offered me chocolate. Chocolate?? I found this in Olivia's room. The advent calendar from Aunt Deb. Ripped apart by wild dogs and devoured. This one was Brooke's. I haven't found Olivia's yet and Olivia swears she had nothing to do with it. So much for a Christmas count-down!
