The Hotel

Here are some pics from the hotel. It is very nice with some posh shops & restaurants on the ground floor and a night club at the top of the marble staircase. There is marble everywhere, even in the bathrooms. Olivia has decided she wants Mark to install marble in her bathroom when we get home. (Project #1235) Since there wasn't much (anything) to do today, we hung out with the kids in the hotel since it was, yet again, very hot outside. We played in the small playroom and we hung out in the halls (I think some of the guests were not impressed with our camping in the halls...) The kids all get along great. Justin is pictured with Olivia & Ke Xin on the see-saw. He seems to like her pretty well! She is oblivious to his attentions and just loves to play. He is a total ham!! He will be living close to us, so we'll get to see him after we get home. He is only 4 and is fluent in Chinese and English. He has quite a sense of humor and is smart as a whip. He is the "entertainer" of our bunch.
The last pic is of Debbi stealing the affections of my new child yet again. She can't help it - Ke Xin just giggles every time she looks at Debbi. And Debbi is great with her. She doesn't avoid me, but she is "polite" to me. She really loves Debbi at this point. Just imagine how mad she's going to be when we get home and she finds out Debbi doesn't live with us...
I've gone back and forth with Ke Xin's name in the blog, referring to her as Brooke sometimes. She'll be Ke Xin from now on. At first she was not responding to her name and we thought that maybe she wasn't all that attached to it. But, she has definitely been responding to it today, so that's how it will stay for now.
I won't be blogging tomorrow as we fly to Guangzhou at dinner time, arriving there after 8pm. Won't that be fun with a dozen tired kids?? And the  first thing we do on Saturday (the 4th) is take them all to the doctor for their adoption physicals!!! Yeah! Happy 4th!! And, oh yeah - they get shots!! Happy 4th!! Last year on the 4th, we were sweating at the local parade. This year we're sweating at the doctor's office, 1/2 way around the world!!!
